Monday 16th June 2008:
Arrival day in Ibiza and car rentals. Allocation of lodgings at our
base.
The tour begins with a
talk on Ibiza (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO),
and its intriguing history, presented at the Greenheart Shop (see link for location
details), in the centre of the town. We will also introduce the week's
planned activities and excursions, plus explain the details of our holistic
activities which are offered throughout your stay.
We will continue our route by
checking out the picturesque Ibiza town, which boasts one of
the best preserved medieval sites in the whole of Europe, with its
stunning cathedral, quaint shops in cobbled streets and outstanding
views from the heights of D'alt Villa.
There'll be free time afterwards
to explore the town centre's unique shops, markets and shady
cafés. Local recommended places to see are the Greenheart
Shop and its neighbouring cafe, Out Of Time People. Both shops are
a good source of books, clothes and fair-trade items, ecological
information and an excellent choice of music CDs.
After the city visit we shall make our way to the fantastic beach at
Cala Nova, where where we will start our programme of holistic
activities (pilates, yoga, tai chi and chi kung) by the sea. You
will also have a chance to relax and have a refreshing swim from the
sandy shores.
In the evening, back at base,
there will be the Light Visions welcome gathering with
dinner and a presentation from Ibiza's ecology and sustainable
living initiative, Greenheart, detailing their role on the island
and what their various projects consist of. Everyone in our group will
receive an info pack including Greenheart's Guide to Ibiza and
Formentera, plus guidelines on low-carbon living and respect for the
environment.

Tuesday 17th June 2008:
A visit to the superb nature reserve, Las Salinas, where one
can experience the calm, clear waters and beautiful white sand stretch
of this unspoilt, scenic area.
The area affords wonderful
panoramic views and is of particular interest due to its proximity to
the salt pans, a renowned treat for fans of aquatic birds and rare
species. Along the coastline the panoramic views continue with vistas
towards the tiny Freus isles and beyond to the long and flat lines of
Formentera. And, as if this were not enough, the far end of the beach
at Salinas is the location of the legendary Sa Trinxa beach bar and
café, where one can unwind and take part in the enjoyment of its
unique atmosphere and tasty food. Other options include several beach
bars and cafés along the sandy stretch, or you can bring your
own picnic to enjoy on the beach.
In this idyllic location we
will offer an uplifting holistic workshop of yoga
or pilates at a small mystic cove, nearby. Later on you can join us
optionally for a hike along the coastline, continuing inside
the Salinas nature reserve with its stunning cliffs and valleys, the
whole area of exceptional value for biodiversity.
To finish the day we will take
in the sunset at a scenic viewing spot making the most of this
magical moment.

Wednesday 18th June 2008:
We begin the day visiting La Casita Verde, HQ of Greenheart
Ibiza, a prestigious ecology center devoted to alternative-ecological
studies and projects related to the environment. We'll conduct a tour
of the centre's facilities to understand their dynamics and
functioning, guided by Chris Dews, director and founder of Greenheart
and president of Ibiza Ecologic.
Will also visit plantations of Aloe vera and learn about growing this
medicinal plant and its healthy benefits, plus advice on how to change
certain habits to lead a life which respects the environment more.
After the Casita Verde visit we
will have a refreshing dip in the turquoise waters of Cala
Salada, a tranquil cove surrounded by hills carpeted by pine
trees, an ideal place for resting the body and delighting the senses.
Once we've regained our energy we'll set off on a trek along the
beautiful coastline in the direction of Punta Galera.
Along the way we'll visit small, hidden coves and the secluded spots
which proved so popular back in the island's hippy days.
We'll finish the day at Kumharas, ideally located for viewing
the magnificent sunsets on Ibiza, enjoying the great sessions of
chilled tuneage and its variety of artistic performances and shows -
everything from juggling to fireshows, all from its spacious and
comfortable seaside terrrace. Whilst there, you can make the most of
its mercado, try the superb asian-med-fusion cuisine, crepes,
cocktails or fresh fruit juices from its unique torre-bar.
And it will be FULL MOON!

delightful clear waters of aptly-named Aguas Blancas. We'll spend an
unhurried few hours in the area, where there are a number of

Saturday
21st June 2008: EARTH
CELBRATION
We'll begin the day by visiting one of most curious and colorful
assembly points of residents in Ibiza: the San Jordi Flea
Market. This place is a veritable open-air flea market where
you can acquire a diverse selection of goods at bargain prices, from
second-hand clothes to antiques, ceramics, musical instruments,
electrical appliances etc. The market is an unmissable item on our
agenda and allows you to immerse yourself in the true Ibicenco
spirit of the isle.
After the market we shall head
for one of the natural splendours of special interest in Ibiza, the
area of Cala Compta (also called "Isle of the Wood).
Once there we will start our "Earth
Celebration" events, with various activities near the
sea, including: mud baths, swimming and snorkeling, hiking and
exploring the coast, plus cleaning and recycling of waste in the area -
thereby doing our bit in caring for the environment of the island.
Towards evening we will welcome
arrival of summer, taking in the sunset from the shore at one of
Ibiza's most splendid spots, where we will then take part in a
percussion workshop by the charismatic Sha, one of the most famous
percussionists on the island with extensive experience in circles with
percussion therapeutic purposes. The rhythms of our drums and the charm
of the place will create the ideal environment for enjoying this most
special sunset by the sea.
And after this, the evening's celebrations will continue with Bhangra
dance and many other surprises... prepare to dance!
